I live in west central Wisconsin. Even during this summer of record rainfall, all the water (not spring-fed - standing water that relies, I'm guessing, on ground water levels) around us is disappearing at an alarming rate. Is there a natural water/weather cycle that contributes to this? I realize that the last few years have been much drier than usual so I am hoping that all the rain this year will eventually reappear in our pond. Is there a local /regional information source that I could contact for some historical ground water level statistics?
