The song is "I Hope there'll Be Pine Trees in Heaven" written by David H. Smith and Lorrain S. Wilkinson. Date unknown to me. The lyrics are as follows:
"I hope there'll be pine trees in Heaven, and mountains all covered with snow. With plenty of room to stretch out in, like we have here in Idaho.
I hope there'll be pine trees in Heaven, to shade the clear streams where they flow, with water that's nectar for drinkin', like we have here in Idaho.
I love all the hills, streams and valleys, the thought of them gives me a thrill. And I think I could stand leaving this world, if I knew they could be with me still.
And if there aren't pine trees in Heaven, I hope there's some place I can go, where they'll have all the things I'll be missing, 'cause its Heaven in Idaho."
Unfortunately, I do not have the ability to convey the music that goes with these lyrics, but I do have a copy of the music and would gladly share it with any that contact me. Also, perhaps some serious music companies may locate it for you now that the title and authors are better defined.
I first heard this about 1988 when it was beautifully sung at the funeral celebrating the life of my friend Ole Hamilton in Lewiston Idaho.
Thanks,
